The stone mines are the source of Bath Stone and have been mined since the 15th Century. The project is being funded through the DTLR Land Stabilisation Programme run by English Partnerships. The anticipated cost of the programme is in excess of £30m but, once completed, will safeguard all of the affected properties in Combe Down. This web site contains downloadable files enabling the citizens of Combe Down, and others interested in the progress of this project, to keep up to date with progress of the studies being undertaken by the Council’s consultants, Parsons Brinckerhoff as Phase 1 of the programme proceeds. The information contained on this web-site is available in accessible formats, i.e. on tape, Braille, electronically, disc, large print and in easy English with symbols. It can also be translated into community Languages |
